Dr. Michael Marcus was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Michael comes from a family of dentists. Both his father, David, and his brother Martin are dentists. Dr. Marcus has been in practice with his father for 22 years.

Dr. Marcus runs one of Chicago’s premier dental practices offering the latest in dental technology in a comfortable modern office. Over the years Dr. Marcus has carefully evaluated new dental technologies as they have evolved and has embraced those that will benefit his patients . This led him to offer the FDA approved treatment-Laser Periodontal therapy. Dr. Marcus is not a periodontist, but a highly trained general dentist certified in Laser Periodontal Therapy.

Dr. Marcus saw the normal resistance of patients to have cut and stitch gum surgery despite their desire to treat their gum disease. When the Periolase laser was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration to treat gum disease and regrow lost bone he knew he had to become involved. Dr. Marcus flew across the country on three separate occasions to California to become certified in Laser Periodontal Therapy. Over the years he has performed this procedure for hundreds of patients. His results have been nothing short of astounding.

Dr. Marcus will tell you that the ability to treat patients with gum disease without the cutting, stitching, recession and cold sensitivity of traditional gum surgery has been personally very satisfying. “When I say the research on the Periolase laser I was very impressed with its capabilities. When I saw the results with my own eyes I was astounded.” When you meet Dr. Marcus be sure ask him about the very first patient he ever treated with the laser (She still has the teeth other’s told had to be extracted.)

Dr. Marcus attended the University of Illinois for undergraduate college. He graduated Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1987.

Dr. Marcus is a member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Seattle Study Club, Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America, The International Academy of Laser Dentistry, and The Cranial Academy (a specialty branch of osteopathic medicine).

One very important priority for Dr. Marcus is his continuing education. Dr. Marcus completes 150-200 hours of continuing education a year. He is able to stay ahead of the curve to bring the latest techniques and technologies to his patients.
Being in practice with his father, Dr. Marcus is uniquely qualified to build these technologies on a foundation of 47 years of experience.

Dr. Marcus’ practice philosophy is to continue to integrate and perfect new technologies to help maximize his patients’ time and comfort and enable them to keep their teeth for their entire life.
